Ahmedabad, Sep 03: Solaryaan, an emerging clean energy technology company, has elevated Chirag Patel to Executive Director, while he continues to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. The expanded leadership mandate comes as Solaryaan enters a new phase of growth under its Solaryaan 2.0 strategy, with a focus on product diversification, energy storage, manufacturing and national expansion.

With over 25 years of leadership experience across renewable energy, power and telecom, Patel has played a key role in shaping Solaryaan’s growth journey, strengthening its people, processes and product portfolio while helping accelerate the company’s transition from a solar inverter-focused business to a broader clean energy solutions provider. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, he has held leadership roles across organisations including Shakti Pumps, Havells India, Panasonic, Tata Tele Business Services and Tata Power Renewable Energy
His leadership focus encompasses business expansion, go-to-market strategy, ecosystem development, technology-led growth, organisational capability and operational excellence. In his expanded role as Executive Director, CEO, and Board Member, will continue to lead Solaryaan’s strategic growth, with a focus on innovation, operational scale, technology development and building a future-ready clean energy business. He will be particularly focused on strengthening Solaryaan’s national footprint and positioning it as an Indian clean energy brand with global ambitions.
Solaryaan has powered more than 500,000 solar installations across India and recorded revenue of over ₹200 crore in the last financial year. The company is targeting revenue of more than ₹400 crore in FY27, driven by product expansion, a growing channel and EPC network, and increasing demand for hybrid energy and storage solutions. As part of its next phase of growth, Solaryaan is also strengthening its presence across India’s key renewable energy markets and expanding its portfolio across Grid-Tied Inverters, Hybrid Inverters, Micro Inverters and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
The company is further investing in domestic energy storage manufacturing, with plans to invest approximately ₹150 crore in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility. It is also evaluating an investment of around ₹550–600 crore towards cell manufacturing, reinforcing its ambition to build a stronger Made-in-India energy storage ecosystem.
Commenting on his expanded role, Chirag Patel, Executive Director, CEO, and Board Member of Solaryaan, said,
“Solaryaan has entered an exciting phase of its journey, and my expanded role comes at a time when the company is transforming its capabilities and preparing for the next stage of growth. Our focus will be on building scale, strengthening our technology portfolio, investing in energy storage and creating a stronger organisation that can contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition.”
The leadership elevation also comes as Solaryaan prepares for its longer-term growth and potential IPO journey. The company believes that strengthening its leadership, manufacturing capabilities and product portfolio will be critical as India’s solar and energy storage markets continue to expand.
Solaryaan’s broader 2.0 strategy represents its evolution beyond conventional solar inverters towards integrated energy solutions spanning solar generation, hybrid systems, battery storage and energy management. The company aims to strengthen its national footprint, expand its EPC and channel ecosystem and build capabilities that position it for sustained growth as India moves towards greater energy independence and increased adoption of distributed renewable energy.
