Ratna Bhandar Inventory at Puri Srimandir Scheduled for August 31 and September 1

The dates have been selected after taking into account the temple’s upcoming festivals and religious ceremonies. The administration aims to complete the exercise while ensuring that regular rituals continue smoothly and devotees face minimal disruption.

The inventory will be conducted under the Standard Operating Procedure approved by the Odisha government. Officials and other authorised personnel involved in the process will follow the prescribed security, documentation and procedural guidelines.

The Ratna Bhandar has immense religious and cultural importance as it contains the temple’s traditional ornaments and other valuable items associated with Lord Jagannath and the temple’s rituals.

The administration is expected to maintain detailed records during the exercise, with emphasis on proper documentation, security and transparency.

The SJTA has appealed to servitors and devotees to cooperate with the authorities during the two-day process. Their support, the administration said, will help ensure that the inventory is carried out in an orderly manner without affecting the temple’s religious traditions.

The exercise reflects the temple administration’s efforts to ensure systematic documentation, responsible management and preservation of the temple’s valuable heritage, while respecting the sanctity of the centuries-old religious institution.
