Pune: Hockey Karnataka, Bihar, Mizoram, Assam, Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu registered victories on the fourth day of the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026, with matches across Divisions B and C producing several convincing results.
In Division B, Pool B, Karnataka recorded the biggest win of the day, defeating Hockey Uttarakhand 6-1. Captain Manish Ponnamma CD was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick in the 19th, 42nd and 46th minutes. Pearlin Ponnamma A.G., Meher Kaur Mehta and Vyshnavi Arul also found the net for Karnataka. Uttarakhand’s lone goal came from Upadhayay Kashish in the 29th minute.
Also in Pool B, Hockey Bihar produced a dominant 6-0 victory over Goans Hockey, underlining their strong form in the competition.
In Division B, Pool A, Hockey Mizoram defeated Kerala Hockey 2-0, while Assam Hockey edged past Hockey Andhra Pradesh 2-1 in a closely contested encounter.
The day’s action also featured matches in Division C, where Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu secured victories in their respective fixtures.
With the league phase progressing, teams are now looking to build momentum and strengthen their positions for the next stage of the championship. The tournament is providing a competitive platform for India’s emerging women hockey players to gain national-level experience.
The 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026 is being played in Pune, with teams competing across multiple divisions for national honours.
