IMS Noida’s Community Radio Initiative Recognised with ‘Naari Leads Swachhta Award’

Noida, May 7: Reinforcing the growing role of community media in driving civic awareness and social change, the Noida Authority has honoured Salaam Namaste Community Radio, the community broadcasting initiative of IMS Noida, with the prestigious ‘Naari Leads Swachhta Award’ for its contribution towards advancing the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The award was presented by Shri S.P. Singh, General Manager, Noida Authority, and Shri Indu Prakash Singh, OSD, recognising the station’s efforts in promoting community-led cleanliness awareness and sustainable living practices across Noida and Ghaziabad.

Over the years, Salaam Namaste Community Radio has evolved beyond a conventional broadcasting platform to become a key driver of social engagement and behavioural change. Since 2022, the station has actively contributed to the Swachh Bharat Mission through impactful initiatives such as the “Zero Waste Campaign” and collaborative outreach programmes with NTPC Dadri, helping translate sustainability conversations into actionable community habits.

Speaking on the recognition, Mr. Chirag Gupta, Vice President, IMS Noida, said,

“This recognition is a testament to the power of community-driven communication in creating meaningful social impact. Through Salaam Namaste Community Radio, we have consistently worked towards amplifying voices that inspire change and promote responsible civic behaviour. The station has consistently used storytelling and grassroots engagement to humanise the mission of cleanliness and civic responsibility. Through thematic discussions, awareness campaigns, and spotlight features on local “Cleanliness Champions,” Salaam Namaste has fostered a stronger sense of collective ownership and participation among citizens.

The recognition also highlights the effectiveness of hyper-local and women-led communication in driving long-term behavioural transformation within urban ecosystems.

IMS Noida expressed gratitude to the Noida Authority for acknowledging the initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging Salaam Namaste Community Radio as a catalyst for social empowerment and sustainable development, aligned with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s vision for a cleaner and healthier India.
