Shree Cement Signs MoU with Rajasthan Government to Support Water Conservation Initiatives

Mumbai, May 05: Shree Cement Limited, one of India’s leading cement manufacturers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan under the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan (MJSA). The MoU was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for School Education, Panchayati Raj & Sanskrit Education, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Madan Dilawar Ji, and Hon’ble Minister of State, Rural Development Department, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Otaram Dewasi Ji.

Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan is the Government of Rajasthan’s flagship initiative focused on water conservation, groundwater recharge, and strengthening rural resilience through sustainable natural resource management and community participation.

As part of the collaboration, Shree Cement will undertake CSR-supported interventions in selected operational villages of its Ras and Beawar Plants, with a focus on water conservation, watershed development and natural resource management. These interventions are expected to improve water availability, strengthen groundwater recharge, support agriculture and livestock, and contribute to the long-term socio-economic development of rural communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj, Head CSR, Shree Cement Limited, said,

The Government of Rajasthan, through the Watershed Department and concerned line departments, will provide technical guidance, administrative facilitation, and institutional support for effective planning and implementation of the proposed works.

This partnership reflects a shared vision of building water-secure, resilient, and sustainable villages in Rajasthan.
