Hailing from Kanpur, Anubhav discovered his passion for polo at The Scindia School, where he began horse training. Balancing rigorous training with a demanding academic schedule, he not only embraced a new sport but excelled, overcoming odds to achieve international recognition.

Beyond being a remarkable individual triumph, Anubhav’s victory is a proud moment for The Scindia School, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing talent. His journey—from a dream shared in school corridors to the podium of a UK university championship—underscores the school’s belief in empowering students with both academic rigor and holistic development.

As Anubhav carves a unique path in polo, his achievement stands as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across India, especially those from non-traditional backgrounds.

Mr Ajay Singh, Principal, The Scindia School, said:
“From Scindia to the world — it’s a proud moment for the entire Scindian fraternity. Anubhav Sachan, our Ex-Jayaji student from the Class of 2023, has made history as the first Indian ever to win the UK University Polo Championship (SUPA Nationals). His journey began right here on the horse-riding field of The Scindia School in 2021, and he went on to become the Deputy Senior School Prefect (Vice Head Boy) in 2022. He was always a bright student, equally committed to academics and sports.

This international achievement is a reflection of the courage, resilience, and leadership that define the Scindian spirit. At Scindia, we don’t just educate—we groom world leaders who dare to dream big and redefine what’s possible. Anubhav’s success is an inspiration for all our students and a proud milestone for the school.”
