Bengaluru, 13th September: SVKM’S NMIMS Bengaluru, recognised as one of the best educational institutes in India, has been reaching greater heights with every passing year ever since its inception. Under the visionary leadership of the campus Director, Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, the brilliant students once again proved their mettle, this time on the international stage. Among the many achievements, three of them are particularly remarkable, namely top honours at the CAPSIM Capstone Business Simulation – Global Championship, the United Nations Millennium Fellowship, and the Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide Conference.
In the CAPSIM Capstone Business Simulation Global Championship 2024, the second-year MBA students of SVKM’s NMIMS School of Management, Bengaluru, achieved outstanding results under the guidance of faculty mentors Dr. Mallika Srivastava and Dr. Neha Chhabra Roy.
In this prestigious bi-annual competition, the students competed against 998 teams from esteemed institutions worldwide, including the University of Illinois, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Three of the MBA-14 teams secured the top three positions globally in Round 8. These teams include Team Baldwin (Industry ID: C149260) with members Shubham Agarwal, Srujan Kumar Bollareddy, Diksha Gupta, Raghav Maggo, Anshita Mishra, and Nandini Singhal; Team Andrews (Industry ID: C149260) with members Khushi Shah, Nishant Gupta, Sanskar Gupta, Hasan Kamran Hashmi, Kishore Kumar D, and Sijoy Saji; and another Team Baldwin (Industry ID: C149258) with members Aayush Narang, Aaspreet Kaur, Abhishek Luthra, Nilesh Nilay, Varsha Periwal, and Yash Agarwal.
This noteworthy accomplishment underscores the students’ passion, perseverance, and exceptional skills, the dedication of the faculty members, and the high calibre of the NMIMS B-School MBA program.
In other news, eight students from the SVKM’s NMIMS School of Law at the Bengaluru campus have been selected as Millennium Fellows for the United Nations Millennium Fellowship, Cohort of 2024. The achievers, including Jay Kumar Gupta, Khushal Goyal, Shreya Shreeja, Venkata Kishore Sreemalle, Rajashree Kishen Kumar, Maneesha Gupta, Sanika Ravishankar, and Amruta Saranya Cheruvu, stood out amongst 52,000+ applicants from 6000+ campuses across the globe.
The incredible feat has driven SVKM’s NMIMS School of Law to be among the top 5% of the selected institutions. In fact, it has also been recognized as a Millennium Fellowship Campus in collaboration with United Nations Academic Impact.
The selected students are gearing up for meaningful social impact through the semester-long leadership development program focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will move forward under the mentorship of the Program Chairperson, Dr. Tanmeet Kaur Sahiwal. Additionally, two outstanding students in the group, Maneesha Gupta and Sanika Ravishankar, will serve as the Campus Directors for the fellowship program.
SVKM’s NMIMS Bengaluru students made the institute proud at the Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide Conference as well. Vadiraj G Moktali and Aditi Kulkarni, representing Team NMBENGALURU_ANALYTICS, secured second place at the event. It is a momentous achievement, given that WiDS, launched at Stanford University, is one of the most well-known platforms working toward educating and inspiring data scientists worldwide, with a particular focus on empowering women in the field.
Faculty members Prof.Preeti Ravikiran and Prof. Anwesha Chattopadhyay celebrated the moment of pride for they led the way for the students and encouraged them to constantly push their boundaries. The collaborative efforts, hard work, and resilience of the mentors and students resulted in a historic milestone for the institution.
