Chennai, 26th September 2025: As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2025 being observed nationwide from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, Canara Bank Chennai Circle Office actively participated in the call of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, for the “Ek Din – Ek Ghanta – Ek Saath” Shramdaan activity held on 25th September 2025 at 8:00 a.m.
The venue identified by the Circle Office for this special initiative was Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya, T. Nagar, Chennai.
Under the guidance and leadership of Circle Head & Chief General Manager, Smt. K. A. Sindhu, staff members of the Circle Office enthusiastically joined hands in the cleanliness drive. Around 80 staff members took part in cleaning the school premises, planting trees within the campus, and creating awareness about hygiene and collective responsibility towards maintaining a clean and green environment.
As part of the program, dustbins and cleaning kits were handed over to the Vidyalaya authorities to support sustained cleanliness efforts. Circle Head, Smt. K. A. Sindhu, garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Thakkar Bapa and personally joined in the campus cleaning activities along with the staff members, reinforcing the spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva.
The event reflected Canara Bank’s deep commitment to nation-building, environmental responsibility, and community service, in line with the vision of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
