Kochi, December 06, 2024: Aster Medcity Kochi, celebrated International Day of Persons with Disability with a series of patient well-being activities. The Chief guest of the event was renowned playback singer Nithya Mammen, who inaugurated the program alongside Dr. Nalanda Jayadev, CEO of Aster Medcity, and Dr. Dilip Panikar, Chief of Medical Services.
“Real heroes are those who rise above all odds, inspiring the world with their determination and strength. I am honored to be part of this celebration. You inspire us all to dream bigger and fight harder.!” said Nithya Mammen enchanting the audience with her soulful rendition of her signature song, ‘Vaathilkkalu Velallripraavu’ from the movie, Sufiyum Sujatayum.

There were workshops and demonstrations, focusing on empowering individuals with disabilities. Dr. Sindhu Vijayakumar and her team led a session on the latest adaptive and assistive devices, highlighting the potential of technology to enhance quality of life. Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, a national award-winning NGO, conducted a workshop on patient sensitization, vocational training, and job opportunities.
