Pipavav, Gujarat September 10th, 2025: APM Terminals Pipavav has achieved a significant milestone through its flagship community initiative, Pashu Uday, by providing health services to more than one lakh livestock across 45 villages. The initiative plays a vital role in safeguarding rural livelihoods by offering veterinary care, preventive health and breed improvement services.
The Pashu Uday program ensures farmers have access to veterinary services through mobile vet clinics, which provide doorstep treatment for regular illnesses during working hours as well as round-the-clock emergency support for critical situations such as lion attacks, dystocia and prolapse. Periodic animal health camps are also conducted to deliver preventive and diagnostic care, often reaching hundreds of animals in a single day. In addition, annual vaccination drives against foot and mouth disease are organized at household and village levels to protect animal populations. The program also facilitates livestock insurance in partnership with United India Insurance and IFFCO Tokio, while offering pathological services for critical and complex cases.
Farmers have also benefitted from timely emergency care that has saved livestock attacked by wild animals or suffering from severe reproductive and other complications. These interventions have restored both animal health and farmer confidence.
APM Terminals Pipavav remains committed to strengthening community resilience and development, as it continues to empower rural India with vital resources that ensure the health and prosperity of both its people and livestock.
