Rusk Media Announces Season 2 of School Friends: Class of ’26 Following Strong Viewer Response

Set in the emotionally charged months leading up to board exams, Season 2 steps back into the lives of Avinash, Ananya, and Saurav—only this time, things aren’t as simple. What used to be an unbreakable trio is now pulled in different directions by ambition, distance, and choices that no longer align. As personal struggles quietly take centre stage, each of them is forced to confront uncertainty, expectations, and the complexities of coming of age. With emotions running high and decisions carrying greater consequences, the season builds towards a pivotal moment that challenges their bond, sense of self, and what truly lies ahead.

Speaking about the announcement, Mayank Yadav, Co-Founder & CEO, Rusk Media, said

“With School Friends: Class of ‘26, the idea has always been to tell stories that feel personal and familiar without diluting their complexity. The response to Season 1 showed us how deeply these characters resonated with viewers. With Season 2, we are stepping into a more layered space—where relationships evolve, choices have consequences, and growing up isn’t as romantic as it seems. We are excited to bring this next chapter to audiences on Alright.”

Aaditya Gupta, who essays the role of Avinash Singh, shared,

“The response to Season 1 was something all of us felt very strongly—it made us realise how much people care about these characters. Coming back for Season 2 has been really special. Avinash is someone who feels everything deeply but doesn’t always say it out loud, and this season really pushes him—emotionally and personally. There is a lot he is dealing with internally, and I think people will connect with that struggle of wanting to fix things but not knowing how.”

Talking about his character Saurav Khare, Rishabh Joshi, added,

“We received so many messages after the first season, especially around the friendship and the fun the show brought in. Bringing Saurav back has been a great experience because this time, you see more of what’s beneath the surface. He looks like he is just having fun, but he is also trying to be someone he is not, and that pressure catches up. I think audiences will enjoy seeing that side while still connecting with who he is.”

Arista Mehta, who portrays Ananya Bhatnagar, said,

“Season 1 built such a strong connection with the audience, and that love has stayed with us. Returning for Season 2 feels like picking up something very close to all of us. Ananya has always been sure of her path, but this season challenges that certainty in a big way— she is dealing with personal loss, big decisions, and the responsibility of doing the right thing, even when it’s hard. I am really excited for viewers to come back to this world and see how these characters grow from here.”

With its mix of friendship, ambition, and the messy reality of growing up, School Friends: Class of ’26 Season 2 promises a more intense, emotionally grounded continuation of a story that has already found a strong connection with young viewers across the nation.
