17th September 2025: The third week of September is shaping up to be nothing short of spectacular for cinema lovers. Coming right after a fantastic weekend at the box office, where audiences turned up in strong numbers, the momentum is all set to continue with an even bigger line-up. With multiple blockbusters across Bollywood, regional, and international cinema, audiences are in for a power-packed Big Screen Bonanza at PVR INOX.
Speaking on this, Mr. Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX Ltd., said: “This September is one of the most exciting months for moviegoers. Last weekend, films like The Conjuring: Last Rites, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Infinity Castle, and Mirai performed very well at the box office, reflecting the strong audience momentum. With the festive season around the corner, we are already seeing encouraging numbers, and the third week of September promises even more excitement. Whether you’re a fan of courtroom dramas, emotional journeys, or action-packed entertainers, this line-up has something for everyone. We are thrilled to bring such a diverse set of films to audiences.”
Riding on this momentum, PVR INOX is now rolling out Big Screen Bonanza– a showcase of films that promise something new for everyone walking into cinemas.
Leading the slate is Jolly LLB 3, the much-awaited courtroom dramedy that marks the epic return of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi together. This time, it’s not just about justice — it’s about the ultimate face-off between two Jollys. Known for its razor-sharp satire and socially relevant storytelling, the franchise now takes the courtroom battle to a whole new level — packed with humor, emotion, and edge-of-the-seat drama.
From the South, the spotlight is on Sakthi Thirumagan — releasing in Tamil and dubbed in Telugu as Badrakali — which also marks a milestone as Vijay Antony’s 25th film as an actor. Directed by Arun Prabu, this political thriller dives deep into themes of rage, rebellion, and the relentless pursuit of justice against a deeply corrupt system. Antony plays Kittu, a man whose journey takes him from lessons learned under his grandfather’s guidance to being on the run from politicians, criminals, and powerful figures. With its grand scale, emotionally charged storytelling, and stirring music, this landmark release is set to resonate strongly with audiences.
Adding to the action quotient is Nishaanchi, directed by Anurag Kashyap. An intense drama brimming with high-octane sequences and gripping twists, the film dives deep into themes of loyalty, betrayal, and survival. The story revolves around the complex bond between twin brothers, both portrayed by newcomer Aaishvary Thackeray, who embark on divergent paths, with their choices ultimately determining their fates. Featuring Aaishvary alongside Monika Panwar, Nishaanchi promises to be a gritty and thrilling ride for action lovers.
On a completely different note, the mysterious drama Him produced by Jordan Peele is ready to intrigue audiences with its psychological depth. An American supernatural psychological sports-horror film directed by Justin Tipping, it promises to push the boundaries of genre cinema, leaving viewers questioning identity, reality, and everything in between.
For fans of gripping psychological thrillers, Mirage promises to be a must-watch. Directed by the master of suspense Jeethu Joseph (Drishyam fame), the film brings together powerhouse performers Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in an edge-of-the-seat narrative. With its layered storytelling, haunting visuals, and a soundtrack that heightens every twist, Mirage is set to keep audiences guessing till the very end.
If high-octane action and post-apocalyptic worlds are your thing, Afterburn delivers it in style. Featuring a stellar ensemble led by Dave Bautista, Samuel L. Jackson, and Olga Kurylenko, the film takes viewers into a world devastated by a solar flare where survival is a fight against all odds. Packed with explosive action, comic book energy, and grand visuals, Afterburn is tailor-made for audiences craving an adrenaline rush on the big screen.
Rounding off the week is the international release Big Beautiful Journey, a magical love story that unfolds as a sweeping romantic fantasy on the big screen. Directed by Kogonada and written by Seth Reiss, the film stars Margot Robbie (as Sarah), Colin Farrell, Kevin Kline, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. With its breathtaking visuals and heartfelt storytelling, the film celebrates the power of love, human connections, and the beauty of life’s journeys — making it a must-watch global cinematic experience.
With IMAX, 4DX, and SCREENX formats across India, PVR INOX continues to build experiences that match the ambition of the films it presents.
