Vijayapura, Nov 18: Sri M. B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, today inaugurated the launch of the ‘ActiLearn’, an interactive educational book as part of its YiPPee! Better World CSR program. The event was held at the Core Science Activity Centre, Vijayapura, with support from Agastya International Foundation.

The ActiLearn Plastic Smart Workbook, is designed to teach children about plastic waste and recycling through fun and easy interactive activities. This initiative aligns perfectly with YiPPee! Better World’s motto: encouraging kids in enjoyable ways to build a community of change-makers and drive compassionate sustainability from an early age.
The launch event saw the enthusiastic participation of approximately 100 schools and 100 teachers from Vijayapura, North Karnataka along with distribution of 30,000 workbooks and teacher training initiatives. Key dignitaries present included:

- Dr. Anand, Deputy Commissioner, Vijayapura (IAS)
- Sri Rishi Anand, IAS
- DDPI Administrative and Academic officials, among others
Sri M. B. Patil remarked,
“It is vital to educate our youth early about the consequences of plastic waste and the importance of recycling. Initiatives like this provides an engaging platform for children to understand sustainability in a fun, practical way. I am happy that, together we can nurture a generation that will lead Karnataka and India towards a cleaner and greener future.”

The one-day event engaged students and educators in hands-on learning experiences centered around the 3Rs of waste management: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Since its inception, the YiPPee! Better World program has educated millions of students across India on the importance of plastic waste management and sustainability. The program integrates education, action, and infrastructure, contributing significantly to ITC’s leadership in sustainability and circular economy practices.
