Greater Noida, 19th June 2025: Shiv Nadar University, Delhi–NCR, India’s premier multidisciplinary research university, has been ranked in the global top 40 universities for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. The University secured a global rank of 36 in SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate universities contribution to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through their teaching, research, institutional practices, and partnerships. This year’s edition assessed 2385 institutions from 130 countries or territories. And ranked institutions based on their performance across multiple areas- research (30%), education (30%), and policies and campus practices (40%).
Shiv Nadar University is one of only two Indian universities ranked in the global top 40 in these SDG categories. This performance reflects the University’s commitment to solving global challenges through sustainability-focused teaching, research, student engagement, institutional practices, and partnerships.
In SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), the University’s work includes teaching, interdisciplinary research, monitoring and managing food waste, awareness and outreach programs, strong partnerships with local communities to address nutrition and food security. For SDG 15 (Life on Land) efforts include teaching, research, and preserving land ecosystems.
The University scored a 100% in several sub-parameters, including SDG reporting, Water reuse, Measures towards affordable and clean energy, and Partnerships to support the goals.
