“We welcome the government’s commitment to additional investments across diverse programs ranging from allied health to design, content creation, and even video gaming. We strongly support the need to provide students with more high-quality choices beyond traditional STEM fields, because over the last 10 years of our work with students at eduVelocity, we have seen emerging interest in many non-traditional fields. In general, investing in education and career-viable fields is extremely important and will go a long way toward ensuring that we fully realize the enormous potential of India’s quote-unquote demographic dividend.

Given India’s rapidly changing landscape of higher education, however, that now includes Indian public university choices, emerging and new private universities and focused on specific niche areas like entrepreneurship, dual degree programs between Indian and the world’s best universities abroad, as well as the increasing number of International Branch Campuses, government investment specifically towards a dramatically improving access to high quality higher education especially financial access, remains a critical need.

Access remains a core issue, and we continue to call on the government to create a pan-India system of financial loans and other instruments to ensure all Indian students, regardless of economic backgrounds get better access and increasing number of exciting higher education choices and options.”
