Thane, July 23, 2025: KIMS Hospitals, Thane, today hell a significant breakthrough in emergency healthcare with the launch of Thane region’s first AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance—a first-of-its-kind initiative in partnership with Medulance. This cutting-edge ambulance system is set to transform pre-hospital critical care by enabling real-time, AI-based patient monitoring and seamless 5G connectivity.
Unveiled during a press briefing and live demonstration held at KIMS Hospitals, the smart ambulance showcased its ability to transmit vital patient data—including ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation—live to the Emergency Room while en route. Unlike standard 5G-enabled ambulances, this next-generation system integrates artificial intelligence to continuously analyze patient vitals during transit, allowing emergency doctors to initiate care protocols before the patient arrives.
“The golden hour can mean the difference between life and death in cases of trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke,” said Dr. Ankit Biyani, HOD – Emergency Medicine at KIMS Hospitals, Thane. “With our AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, clinical decisions can begin before the patient reaches the hospital—redefining what timely intervention looks like in emergency care.”
Saurabh Gupta, Regional COO, KIMS Hospitals, Thane, added: “This launch is more than a technological milestone—it reflects our deep commitment to patient-first innovation. By merging 5G connectivity with AI capabilities, We aim to significantly reduce emergency response times and save more lives through unparalleled medical excellence for the people of Thane and Maharashtra.”
Dr. Amit Raodeo, Chief of Critical Care at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, emphasized the critical value for critical cases: “With emergencies, every second matters. The AI-driven smart ambulance gives us a clear clinical window even before the patient reaches us, which can be the difference between recovery and long-term damage.”
During the demonstration, attendees witnessed how real-time telemetry, AI-based analytics, and HD communication tools function seamlessly over ultra-low-latency 5G networks. The system also allows emergency teams to communicate with ambulance staff, review data live, and prepare the emergency bay accordingly—maximizing the ‘Golden Hour Advantage’.
With this launch, KIMS Hospitals became the first in the Thane region to roll out a fully AI integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, positioning itself as a leader in future-ready emergency medicine. The collaboration with Medulance brings together clinical expertise and cutting-edge tech infrastructure—setting a new benchmark for hospitals across Maharashtra and India.
