Tamra at Shangri-La Eros New Delhi presents Mountain spice trail

New Delhi, 10th July 2025: The Himalayas have long stirred the imagination of culinary storytellers, where mountain communities across generations have safeguarded recipes that reflect the purity and resilience. Shangri-La Eros New Delhi proudly brings the rich and authentic flavours of Himalayan and Nepalese cuisine to the capital, in collaboration with Chef Pin. From July 10 to 12, 2025, this exclusive three-day showcase at Tamra, led by the remarkable Chef Arati Thapa, beautifully captures the essence of traditional mountain fare. Blending time-honoured recipes with contemporary finesse, the experience offers an insight into the soul of the Himalayas.

Across three evocative days, the dining space is reimagined as a portal to the Himalayan highlands, where Chef Arati Thapa channels the depth and warmth of her roots through flavours that speak of heritage and home. Her journey has resonated widely, underscoring her devotion to reviving the culinary memory of Nepal and Darjeeling.

Guided by the spirit of her “Boju” (grandmother in Nepalese), she safeguards timeworn recipes passed down through generations. From the wildly loved momos to soul-soothing dishes like thukpa and gundruk, every plate is steeped in ancestral rhythm, offering diners a rare taste of the mountains,  honest, unpretentious, and full of soul.

The thoughtfully curated menu offers a journey through the heart of Nepal’s food culture. The menu begins with an amalgamation of Veg and Chicken Sadeko Momo, followed by the fragrant Mustang Dal delicately seasoned with Jimbu. These are paired with the comforting warmth of Chicken Curry with Bamboo Shoot.  A live Sel Roti counter adds a warm, festive touch, connecting guests to the home-style traditions.

Comforting Chicken Jhol Momo and fiery Chilli Chicken come together with soulful staples like Gundruk ko Jhol and the deep flavours of Khasi ko Maasu. A live Egg Bata with Gundruk Jhol station highlights the wide range of Himalayan cooking, while a sweet ending comes with the playful pairing of Lakhmari and Vanilla Ice Cream. Standouts like Chicken Choila and Saag Jhaneko bring distinction to the menu, balanced by comforting selections like Yellow Dal with Jimbu and Raai Ka Saag. A selection of traditional condiments, including Smoked Tomato Chutney, Roasted Sesame Chutney, adds depth and regional authenticity. With thoughtfully crafted options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences, the menu reflects the warmth and complexity of Himalayan cuisine.
