Sharad Shilpotsav Exhibition Highlights Traditional and Contemporary Handicrafts at Dilli Haat INA

New Delhi, 23 September 2025: The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, through the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts & Handlooms), is currently organizing a special exhibition “Sharad Shilpotsav – Exposition of Exquisite Handicrafts & Handloom Products” at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi. The expo, which began on 16th September, will continue till 30th September 2025.

The event brings together the skills and creativity of 80 handicraft artisans and 36 handloom weavers from different parts of the country. Visitors can experience a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural heritage through exquisite handicrafts, handwoven textiles, and contemporary designs.

At the expo, visitors can witness Odisha’s palm leaf Chittapatra art depicting mythological tales, Gujarat’s sparkling mirror embroidery, Varanasi’s glass bead jewellery, and tribal embroidery reflecting ancestral traditions. Assam’s handloomed Mekhela Chadors, vibrant Madhubani paintings, the intricate Bandhani tie-and-dye, and Ajrakh block printing further showcase the diversity and richness of India’s craft heritage.

Dilli Haat has been transformed into a colorful celebration of Indian crafts with decorated stalls, thematic installations, and a central cane handicraft structure illuminated with multi-colored lights. The exhibition also provides visitors an opportunity to interact with artisans, witness live demonstrations, and purchase authentic handcrafted and handloom products directly from the creators.

With “Sharad Shilpotsav,” the Ministry of Textiles seeks to highlight India’s rich craft traditions while empowering artisans and weavers with direct market access and greater visibility. This initiative is not just an exhibition but a tribute to the artisans and weavers who carry forward India’s timeless craft legacy.
