The Indian Music Experience Museum will hold a demonstration on the Shahjahanpur Gharana of Sarod, developed across erstwhile Awadh, undivided Bengal, and Bihar, incorporating compositions of marching tunes, the lyricism of thumri, staccato structure of a Rabab composition and the sombreness of Dhrupad. The Gharana will also showcase compositions of Pt. Radhika Mohan Maitra. Sarod exponent Dr. Chandrima Majumdar will perform select compositions from the Shahjahanpur Gharana. She will be accompanied on the tabla by Kartik Bhat.
