HyFun Foods Celebrates World French Fries Day

HyFun Foods Celebrates World French Fries Day by Spotlighting Potatoes from Indian Farms to Global Plates

July 12, 2025: As the world celebrates French Fries Day, HyFun Foods, India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of frozen potato products, marks the occasion by highlighting India’s fast-growing footprint in global food exports—built on innovation, agritech, and farmer-first practices.

India exported over 135,877 tonnes of frozen French fries in FY 2023–24, valued at ₹1,478.73 crore, with HyFun Foods contributing majority of this volume. With exports to 40+ countries, HyFun has become the global face of India’s processed potato products.

This day also highlights the remarkable contribution of Indian farmers, especially from Gujarat who make it possible for HyFun Foods to take French fries from Indian farms to global plates. Unlike many FMCG brands that focus solely on their end products, HyFun proudly celebrates the farmers behind every potato. This core belief will also be reflected across various platforms, reaffirming the brand’s deep-rooted respect for its farming partners.

At the heart of HyFun’s success is HyFarm – its Agri business unit, which began with just 200 farmers and has now grown to empower over 7,000 smallholders across 35,000+ acres in North Gujarat. The company aims to scale this to 30,000+ farmers by 2028, promoting low-input, high-output farming with a focus on sustainability, climate resilience, and income predictability.

“What began with just 200 farmers is now a thriving community of over 7,000, a testament to the trust we’ve built and the transformation we’re driving,” said Haresh Karamchandani, Managing Director & Group CEO, HyFun Foods. “At HyFun, growth has never been just about numbers. It’s about empowering farmers, advancing agriculture with science and technology, and creating a profitable and sustainable future.”

HyFun’s export portfolio includes a wide variety of potato-based products such as straight cut fries, crinkle fries, coated fries, peri-peri fries, and hash browns, customized to meet customer’s taste preferences. The company operates one of Asia’s largest potato processing facilities, capable of handling over 1,000 tonnes of potatoes per day.

This World French Fries Day, HyFun Foods celebrates not just a snack, but a sustainable supply chain, a scalable ecosystem, and a story of Indian innovation and rural partnership feeding the world.
