Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) Appoints POWERCON for India’s First Independent Full-Scope 300 MW Wind Project Management

Mumbai10th October 2025 : Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Funds, a global leader in renewable energy investment and infrastructure fund management, has appointed POWERCON, a comprehensive renewable energy asset management company, to singularly manage its 300 MW wind energy project in Karnataka, India. This appointment marks the first instance in India where full-scope Asset Management has been entrusted to an independent firm, signalling a transformative shift in the governance of renewable energy assets in the country.

The partnership highlights the distinct significance of Independent Asset Managers in delivering domain expertise, operational excellence, and strategic value to the Investors for securing strong returns and measurable impact on decarbonization. While Envision, the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) OEM deploys technology, POWERCON provides an end-to-end management across operational, corporate, and financial domains. Its responsibilities include performance governance of WTGs and Balance of Plant (BOP) operations, stakeholder engagement, utility and regulators interface, real-time power off-take strategy management, while strictly adhering to CIP’s HSSE, ESG and Cybersecurity standards.

At the corporate and financial level, POWERCON manages service providers, insurance, budgeting, reporting, accounting, payments, collections, settlements, treasury, and tax compliance. By integrating these functions under a singular framework, every aspect of the asset lifecycle, from daily operations to strategic governance, is optimised for performance, transparency, and long-term value creation for CIP. This multi-disciplinary approach of CIP goes beyond the traditional operations method, allowing them to focus on renewable energy development and capital allocation while securing maximum yield over asset lifetime.
