New Delhi, September 17th, 2025: The Vishwakarma Diwascelebration at VR Metropolitan, Civil Lines, became a significant occasion to honour the contributions of the city’s workforce, with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, leading the proceedings. She was joined by the Hon’ble Labour Minister of Delhi, Sh. Kapil Mishra, the Labour Commissioner, Smt Shilpa Shinde, and Nipun Jain,Siddharth Gupta and Tariq Chinoy Directors of VR Metropolitan, underscoring the government’s commitment to labour welfare and community empowerment.
The Chief Minister recognised and felicitated workers from the VR Metropolitan project site, presenting them with certificates in appreciation of their dedication and contribution to the development of the landmark city centre. This reaffirmed the city’s focus on inclusive growth, skill recognition, and worker welfare.
Observed across India, Vishwakarma Diwas honours Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and patron of workers and artisans, making the occasion especially significant for recognising those engaged in shaping the city’s builtenvironment.

The celebration underlined the importance of recognising and supporting Delhi’s workforce, while also highlighting the role of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in shaping the city’s future. VR Metropolitan is a flagship PPP project, with the underlying land owned by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) – a wholly government-owned company, equally and jointly owned by the Government of India and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The upcoming centre is poised to emerge as a benchmark PPP initiative, delivering on the government’s vision for modern infrastructure and sustainable urban development.
The initiative not only celebrated skilled workers but also demonstrated how collaborative models between the government and private sector can deliver lasting social and economic value. By aligning infrastructure development with social objectives, VR Metropolitan is positioned to serve as a model for projects that balance growth, equity, and community well-being.
