CEAT reduces prices across tyre portfolio to pass on GST benefits to consumers

New Delhi, India  12th September, 2025: CEAT Limited today announced a reduction in prices across its entire range of tyres to pass on the benefits of the recently announced Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms by the Government of India to consumers. The company will be passing on 100% of the benefit to their channel and customers.

The 56th GST Council meeting approved significant reductions in GST rates applicable to the tyre industry. The GST on new pneumatic tyres has been reduced to 18 percent from 28 percent, while tractor tyres and tubes will attract a reduced GST rate of five percent.

Arnab Banerjee, Managing Director & CEO, CEAT Limited, said, “We thank the Government of India and the GST Council for their timely and progressive decision to rationalize tax rates in the tyre sector. The reduced GST slabs will greatly benefit the tyre industry and consumers alike. Not only will it lower the cost of owning and operating a vehicle for customers across various segments but, by making tyres more affordable to replace, it will also make our roads safer. All in all, the move will spur formalization and greater compliance, while also fostering sustainable growth in the sector.”

The reduced prices, reflecting the new GST rates, will be applicable on all CEAT products effective September 22nd, 2025.
