Bata India Marks 131-Year Legacy with Inspiring, Carbon-Neutral ‘StepsWithHer’ Walkathon

New Delhi, India 25th September 2025:  In a powerful tribute to its enduring legacy, Bata India celebrated its 131st Founder’s Day with the ‘StepsWithHer’ Walkathon, a 5KM initiative to support the education of underprivileged girls under the Bata Children’s Program. This landmark event was designed to be entirely carbon-neutral, with a parallel tree plantation drive reinforcing the brand’s commitment to both people and planet.

More than 500 Bata employees and their families took part, walking in unison to make a difference. For each kilometer completed, Bata donated stationery kits, school bags, and planted a tree. This powerful combination of a community walk and a sustainability pledge made the day a resounding success.

Speaking on the initiative, Pooja Minocha, CHRO, Bata India said, “For over 131 years, Bata’s purpose has extended far beyond footwear; it has been about walking with our communities, supporting their growth, and enabling their dreams. This Founder’s Day, we celebrated our glorious years with a walkathon to move & take #StepsWithHer to bring an impact where it matters. Together, our footsteps will pave the way for a more hopeful and sustainable future.”
