Ather Energy crosses 500plus Experience Centres in India, accelerating nationwide expansion

Chennai, 23 September 2025: Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, crossed a significant milestone with the opening of over 500 Experience Centres (EC) across India. Over the last few months, Ather has rapidly expanded its presence across the country, focusing particularly on expansion in Middle* and North India, to cater to the growing consumer demand for its electric scooters, especially the Rizta – Ather’s first family scooter.

Speaking on the milestone, Mr. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said, “Crossing 500 Experience Centres marks an important step in our growth journey, as we continue to expand our presence in line with rising demand across markets. While South India continues to be our strongest base, where we are steadily growing, the success of Rizta has also helped us fast-track expansion in Middle and North India. This growth is not confined to metros alone. We are also building deeper into tier 2 and 3 cities, where consumer response has been equally encouraging. As we continue to scale, our focus remains on making Ather accessible to more customers across India, with the aim of crossing 700 Experience Centres by the end of FY26.”

In the last three months alone (June-August 2025), Ather has added 101 new Experience Centres to its network across India. Of these, more than 58 have been opened across Middle and North India, in cities such as Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Mandsaur and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Sundargarh in Odisha, Vadodara in Gujarat, and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, to name a few. In South India as well, where Ather is a market leader, the company has built a robust retail network and continues to expand steadily. Additionally, Ather is also deepening its presence in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, including Calicut, Indore, Nashik, Coimbatore, Guntur, Haldwani, Satara, Kota, Kangra, and Aizwal, in order to make its electric scooters accessible to a wider base of customers. The company has been deploying multiple retail formats tailored to different tiers. In line with the expansion of its retail network, Ather is also consistently expanding its service network, including Ather Gold service centres.

Over the years, Ather’s retail network has grown with states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, each having over 50 Experience Centres. At a city level, Bengaluru leads with 18 Experience Centres, followed by Pune and Hyderabad with 13 each, Delhi with 9, and Mumbai and Chennai with 8 each. This retail expansion is backed by strong consumer demand and rising market share. Ather’s national market share grew to 14.3% in Q1 FY26, up from 7.6% in Q1 FY25. In Middle India, its share grew 2.6x year-on-year to 10.7%, driven by rapid retail expansion. Ather also retained its leadership in South India with a dominant 22.8% market share in Q1 FY25.

Ather’s current product portfolio consists of the 450 series, which is engineered for performance, and the Rizta, Ather’s first family scooter, built for safety, comfort, and convenience. At Ather Community Day 2025, Ather recently unveiled its all-new EL platform that will power the next generation of Ather scooters, introduced AtherStack™ 7.0 with voice-enabled interaction and safety features like Pothole and Crash Alerts, launched Infinite Cruise™ for the 2025 Ather 450 Apex, and announced a major upgrade for the Rizta Z with touchscreen functionality.

Ather currently has 2 manufacturing plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, one each for vehicle assembly and battery manufacturing, and an upcoming third manufacturing facility in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. The upcoming facility in Maharashtra is expected to further increase Ather’s total manufacturing capacity across all facilities to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers per year.
