Tom Hiddleston Hails The Night Manager Season 2 Co-Stars Diego Calva and Camila Morrone as “Extraordinary Actors”
Nearly a decade after The Night Manager first captivated audiences worldwide on Prime Video, Tom Hiddleston returns to one of the most defining roles of his career in the highly anticipated second season. Expanding the story of Jonathan Pine into darker and more perilous territory, Season 2 picks up years after the original events, drawing Pine back into the murky world of international espionage—where shifting identities, fractured loyalties, and a far-reaching conspiracy unfold across London and Colombia.
With no sequel novel from John le Carré to guide the narrative, Season 2 ventures into entirely new territory, driven by creator, writer, and executive producer David Farr’s original vision. The new chapter introduces a formidable ensemble cast, including Diego Calva and Camila Morrone, who join the series in pivotal roles.
Reflecting on continuing the story without le Carré’s source material, Hiddleston praised Farr’s ambitious storytelling:
“David Farr has achieved the impossible. The Night Manager was based on a novel by John le Carré—there was no second novel, no sequel. David has written it with all the sophistication and complexity that le Carré would approve of and admire,” he shared. “He’s forensic about detail and brilliant at plotting a complex spy thriller. It feels like a roller-coaster—exciting, dangerous, edgy, mythic, and complex. At its heart, it’s about personal redemption, guilt, shame, and truth.”
Hiddleston was equally enthusiastic about the new talent joining the series, calling Diego Calva and Camila Morrone “extraordinary actors.” He added, “They’ve taken what’s on the page and given it an extra dimension in every conceivable way.”
Speaking about Calva’s portrayal of Teddy Dos Santos, Hiddleston noted, “There’s an initial ruthlessness to Teddy—he’s hard and tough, someone you don’t want to mess with. But behind that exterior is an incredibly vulnerable interior. Diego is majestic, thoughtful, and sensitive, making him a powerful opposite number for Jonathan Pine.”
On Morrone’s performance as Roxana Bolaños, Hiddleston said, “Camila has thrown her whole soul into this character. Her performance is instinctive, magnetic, fiery, and unpredictable.”
Based on characters created by John le Carré, The Night Manager Season 2 is created and executive produced by David Farr and directed by BAFTA winner Georgi Banks-Davies. Stephen Garrett returns as lead executive producer, alongside an extensive team that includes Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Susanne Bier, and several others.
The new season reunites Golden Globe winner Tom Hiddleston and Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, alongside returning cast members Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe. New additions include Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, Hayley Squires, and others in key roles.
The Night Manager Season 2 premieres with its first three episodes on January 11, 2026, with new episodes releasing every Sunday throug
