India, 30th August 2024: Epoint, the leader in online payments in Azerbaijan, today announced that it has been granted a fintech license by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This recognition – which is the first for any startup in the country – is a testament to the high quality of the services provided by the company and their compliance with the most stringent security and reliability standards.
Epoint is a resident of the Technopark of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan. The main goals of IDDA are to enable the digitalization process in Azerbaijan, as well as build and reinforce the innovation ecosystem of the country. This includes amongst other things the support of local tech startups and the relocation of IT companies from abroad.
Epoint focuses on developing the field of e-commerce and payment services, optimizing business processes for small and medium businesses, and providing convenient transactions for both local and international customers.
The following features are now available on the Epoint platform:
- free of charge landing page with payment module,
- digital integration of the platform with the user’s website or app,
- regular and round-the-clock payments with both local and foreign cards,
- electronic notifications for sellers and buyers,
- a unified system for accepting payments with debit, credit, and installment cards, as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay tokens,
- access to all platform features through the recently introduced mobile app.
Currently, Epoint operates and provides its services to customers not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Ukraine, and the platform interface is available in English, Russian, and Azerbaijani.
It should be noted that last year the startup raised US$100K as part of an acceleration program organized in Georgia by the most prominent venture company in the world – «500 Global»
Epoint has been a resident of the Technopark of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) since May. Due to the support of IDDA, Epoint has already participated in many international events and will also be taking part in the «GITEX ENS» summit, which will take place in Dubai in October 2024.
