Hyderabad, Sep 01: Hyderabad’s largest and longest-running intercorporate sporting event has just closed its 2025-26 season. The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association felicitated the champions of the 25th HYSEA Intercorporate Sports Tournament 2025-26 at a packed awards event at the Infosys Campus, Gachibowli – with Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and Deloitte emerging as the standout performers of a season that ran from February to June 2026 and drew over 2,000+ associates from 60+ member companies across 17 sporting disciplines.
Infosys and TCS finished neck-and-neck at the top of the medal table with five titles each and 11 podium finishes apiece, while Deloitte Consulting India walked away with the two most fiercely contested trophies of the season – Men’s Field Cricket, the tournament’s marquee event with 55 teams in the fray, and Women’s Box Cricket.
Started in 2001 with a handful of software companies, the tournament has grown into the city’s defining corporate sporting tradition. This edition was hosted across the Infosys STP and SEZ campuses and saw more than 270 teams take the field, drawn from Hyderabad’s IT majors, product firms and the fast-expanding Global Capability Centre ecosystem. This season HYSEA introduced Box cricket for 40+ year olds, and was well participated by many companies.
“We have a million professionals in this city. Only 2,000 played. That is the gap I want us to close.”
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Flt Lt Bipin Pendyala, President, HYSEA, said:
“Hyderabad is home to close to a million technology professionals, and this tournament – for all its scale – still reaches only a fraction of them. For 25 years this has been HYSEA’s most enduring tradition, and it endures because it does something no townhall or offsite can: it puts colleagues shoulder to shoulder on a field, and it sends them back to work fitter, calmer and better connected to one another.”
“My appeal to the hundreds of leaders across our member companies is simple – field more teams in the coming editions,” he added. “Block the calendars, back your women’s events, and send your first-timers, not only your athletes. Physical and mental fitness is the single most essential wellbeing investment we can make in Telangana’s technology workforce, and it costs a company far less than the burnout it prevents. HYSEA will keep building the platform. I would like the industry to fill it.”
Champions of the 2025-26 Season
Infosys Ltd took titles in Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Carroms, Squash and Men’s Box Cricket. Tata Consultancy Services matched that tally with wins in Chess, Kabaddi, Men’s Volleyball, Snooker and Women’s Throwball. The season also produced four first-among-equals winners from outside the traditional heavyweights: Enviri India Services, Entain Software, D. E. Shaw and Synchrony International Services. Podium finishes were also recorded by HSBC, ADP, Microsoft, Oracle, S&P Capital IQ, Carelon Global Solutions, Invesco and Ryan India Tax Services.

On the Podium and at the Podium
The awards were presented by Mr. Pranab Bharadwaj, Vice President & DC Head, Infosys Gachibowli, and Flt Lt Bipin Pendyala, President, HYSEA, alongside three special guests.
Mr. Mohammed Asif Iqbal, Associate Director – Advisory at PwC India, Board Member at Airtel Payments Bank and an Asia Book of Records holder as the fastest 100 per cent visually impaired runner to complete a full marathon – voice-guided, with no physical support – received a standing ovation for an address on resilience, inclusion and how AI and assistive technology can widen access.
Brigadier Inder Sethi, Senior Defence Strategic Advisor and author, told the gathering that sport is far more than fitness or competition.
“It is one of the most natural laboratories for leadership. Every few seconds a player is scanning the environment, reading intent, spotting an opening, anticipating a move, trusting a teammate, deciding whether to stay with the plan or adapt. That is leadership in its most elemental form – which is perhaps why the capabilities we talk about in boardrooms, situational awareness, judgment under pressure, resilience, teamwork and anticipation, are practised instinctively on playing fields.”
Carrom World Champion 2024 Mr. K. Srinivas spoke on endurance and the discipline of staying with a long season.
Partners
Infosys was Venue Partner, hosting the tournament across its STP and SEZ campuses and supporting event logistics. Radio Mirchi was the event execution partner, and Yashoda Hospitals was health partner, with a physician and an ambulance on standby throughout the season.
HYSEA thanked every participating company, partner and supporter for making the silver jubilee edition a landmark celebration of community and corporate wellness. The next edition will be announced shortly and will run from the autumn season into the winter months.
