Hyderabad, August 18: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar inaugurated 48 newly constructed family quarters at the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) campus in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad, under the government’s efforts to improve housing and welfare facilities for personnel of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government is focusing on strengthening CAPF capabilities, modernisation, infrastructure and personnel welfare. Improving residential facilities and increasing the Housing Satisfaction Ratio of CAPF personnel are among the government’s priorities. So far, construction of 10,029 housing units for SSB personnel has been completed, while work on another 1,273 units is underway.

The SSB plays a key role in securing India’s 2,450-km open international borders with Nepal and Bhutan, besides contributing to internal security, disaster response and humanitarian services. Its operational capabilities are being enhanced through modern technology, intelligence-based border management and improved training. During 2025-26, SSB personnel rescued 661 victims of human trafficking and arrested 6,324 people involved in illegal activities, reflecting the force’s role in strengthening security and public welfare in border areas.
