Conceived and directed by Meta Theater founder Axel Tangerding, this theatrical adaptation translates T.S. Eliot’s landmark 1922 poem into an immersive, multi-sensory physical performance. Grounded in Bauhaus movement principles and experimental stage design, the production seamlessly weaved spoken verse, original live soundscapes by multi-instrumentalist Ardhi Engl, and dynamic set aesthetics by Louis Panizza.

“Axel Tangerding brings ‘The Waste Land’ by T. S. Eliot to the stage with great acting skills, an intelligent set design and unusual music … fascinating, oscillating and haunting,” said Ms Alexandra Leuthner, Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“At Techno India Group, we have always believed in fostering artistic excellence and facilitating global cultural exchange. Hosting an internationally acclaimed performance like Meta Theater Munich’s ‘The Waste Land’ aligns with our commitment to offering world-class art and intellectual engagement to our community,” said Ms Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group.

The performance featured actor and voice artist Nicole Kleine alongside Axel Tangerding, with lighting and sound production managed by Sebastian Strauß, dramatical supervision by Dr Martina Taubenberger, and camera direction by Michaela Seifert.
