Gurugram, June 05: Dharav High School was recently recognised and awarded at The Wellbeing Standard, an initiative organised by SWISS Essentials and My Safe Spaces, for its commitment to student wellbeing and creating safe, inclusive learning environments. The event also honoured distinguished leaders for their contributions to education and student wellbeing. Ms. Devyani Jaipuria, Chairperson, Dharav High School, was honoured for her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and her continued efforts in creating student-centric learning environments. Dr. Aditi Misra, Director, Dharav High School, was presented with an award for her exceptional leadership, advocacy and dedication towards advancing student wellbeing, mental health awareness and holistic development within educational institutions.
The Wellbeing Standard brought together education leaders to exchange insights and best practices on creating emotionally safe and supportive school environments. The recognition reflects Dharav High School’s continued focus on embedding wellbeing within its educational framework and developing a culture that supports the holistic development of students.
Further strengthening these efforts, the school’s educators participated in the Gatekeeping Training Certification Programme focused on recognising and supporting students experiencing emotional distress, as well as the First Quarterly Workshop on Burnout Prevention for the teachers. The workshop introduced practical wellbeing strategies and the concept of IKIGAI, a Japanese philosophy centred on finding purpose and meaning in life, encouraging educators to reflect on their strengths, values and professional aspirations.
Speaking about the initiatives, Dr Aditi Misra, Director, Dharav High School said, “At Dharav High School, we believe that wellbeing is fundamental to meaningful learning. Creating safe, supportive and emotionally aware environments enables both students and educators to thrive. Through regular wellbeing initiatives, we aim to strengthen resilience, encourage open conversations around mental health and ensure that wellbeing remains an integral part of the educational experience.”
Highlighting the school’s approach to student wellbeing, Ms. Ritu Jawa, Principal, Dharav High School said, “Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment is essential to helping students develop confidence, empathy and a strong sense of belonging. We are committed to ensuring that every student feels heard, supported and empowered to explore their potential.
