IIM Bodh Gaya Partners with Bihar Government to Boost Governance and Administrative Excellence

IIM Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar, through the Bihar Prashasnik Sudhar Mission Society (BPSMS), to serve as the Academic and Knowledge Partner for the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme. The initiative aims to engage 121 professionally trained young residents of Bihar as fellows to contribute to policy formulation, administrative decision-making, and development planning across state, divisional, district, and municipal levels.

Under this collaboration, IIM Bodh Gaya will design and deliver the complete academic curriculum, provide selection support, conduct classroom training and immersion modules, offer mentoring, and perform periodic assessments of the Fellows. The Government of Bihar will coordinate deployment, administrative processes, and financial support. The partnership advances the state’s vision of creating a cadre of young governance professionals capable of improving service delivery, enhancing policy execution, and driving innovation in public systems. Fellows will operate across offices ranging from the District Magistrate to the Chief Minister’s office.

IIM Bodh Gaya has a proven track record in delivering leadership and management programmes for Bihar Administrative Service and Bihar Police Service officers, covering areas such as administrative effectiveness, public leadership, decision-making, and citizen-centric service. These programmes have strengthened managerial capacity across departments including Water Resources, Transport, Planning, Panchayati Raj, and other specialized wings of the state government.

Speaking on the MoU, Director Dr. Vinita Sahay highlighted that the collaboration reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to nation-building and supporting the vision of a Viksit Bharat and Viksit Bihar through professional management education. She emphasized that the Fellowship will equip young professionals with analytical skills, administrative insight, and leadership capabilities to advance Bihar’s development priorities and enhance governance outcomes. The Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme marks a significant milestone in IIM Bodh Gaya’s mission to nurture capable, ethical, and service-oriented leaders for the public sector.
