Swar-Milan: A Two-Day Indian Classical Music Festival begins, presented by Surmandal Hyderabad

Hyderabad, October 13, 2025 : The Swar-Milan, a two-day Indian Classical Music Festival, begins on Saturday night at Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdi-ka-Pul

The Hyderabad-based Surmandal organises the festival.

The festival opened on Saturday late evening with a soul-stirring Santoor recital by Shri Rahul Sharma, accompanied by the acclaimed Tabla maestro Shri Ojas Adhiya.

Over 600 music lovers attended the festival on the day one.

On Sunday late evening a performance of renowned flute virtuoso Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia, who will be accompanied on Tabla by the celebrated Shri Satyajit Talwalkar will be performed. This performance will pay homage to the iconic musical camaraderie of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, evoking their legendary artistry and brilliance.

The festival is dedicated to the memory of Shri Mohan Hemmadi, a lifelong patron and promoter of Indian classical music, whose birth anniversary coincides with the opening day of the event.

Swar-Milan is supported by the Government of Telangana, Department of Language and Culture, along with sponsorship from Canara Bank, Entod Chemicals, and VRVS Pharmaceuticals. The festival seeks to celebrate and preserve the grace and timeless beauty of India’s musical heritage.
