Bengaluru, September 22nd, 2025: The Karnataka Wheelchair Tennis Association (KWTA), in collaboration with the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), proudly announces the successful conclusion of the first-ever National Ranking Wheelchair Tennis Tournament held at the KSLTA courts from September 17th to 20th, 2025. This landmark event marked a historic milestone for wheelchair tennis in India, showcasing the resilience, skill and sportsmanship of the nation’s top wheelchair tennis athletes.
The tournament, officially recognized by the All-India Tennis Association (AITA), witnessed spirited competition with more than 50 players representing diverse regions across the country. The electrifying matches engaged the audience and furthered the cause of inclusion and recognition in Indian sports.

This event has set the foundation for elevating wheelchair tennis in India to new heights, and we remain committed to building an inclusive sporting community that nurtures and celebrates talent from every part of the country,” said the Mr. B.R. Chandrakant, Director Karnataka Wheelchair Tennis Association.
The KWTA’s revitalized managing committee, with its three-pronged mission of talent discovery, player development, and widening the sport’s reach into smaller towns, continues to provide comprehensive support through physical and mental fitness training, dietary planning and holistic well-being initiatives.
