Kolkata, 22nd September, 2025: Doctors’ Choice in association with Kashi Bose Lane Puja Committee, ushered in the dawn of Devi Paksho, with Chokkhudaan – Pujo Dekho Moner Chokhe, a unique initiative celebrating inclusion, compassion and the true essence of Durga Puja. In a moving and symbolic gesture, children with visual impairment inaugurated the Puja at Kashi Bose Lane, offering the community a chance to see the festival through their perspective. The occasion was graced by Dr Shashi Panja, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Gopal Saraf, Director, Sales & Marketing, Doctors’ Choice, Mr Shivam Agarwal, Head of Marketing & Strategy, Doctors’ Choice and, Mr. Dhinal Brahmbhatt, Chief Business Officer, Doctors’ Choice.
The inauguration was followed by the felicitation of Mr. Chinmay Mondal, a Visually Impaired Swimmer; Mr. Kanai Lal Chakraborty, Vice President of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India; and Mr. Subhash Dey, Secretary of the Group Theatre of the Blind. They were honoured for their contributions to society and community spirit. The audience was then treated to a soulful musical performance by the visually impaired children, leaving many deeply touched and reinforcing the idea that the true joy of festivity is rooted in empathy, shared humanity and collective celebration.
In line with the theme of inclusion, the Kashi Bose Lane pandal introduced Braille explanations of its theme, ensuring accessibility and understanding for visitors with special needs. This thoughtful step ensured accessibility and meaningful participation for visitors with special needs, further underlining Durga Puja as a festival that embraces every devotee.

By involving these specially abled individuals in this initiative and describing the pandal’s theme in Braille, we aimed to create a space where every devotee feels seen, valued, and celebrated. A special booth for eye donation will be set up in association with Medical Bank at the pandal, further reinforcing the message of Chokkhudaan in its truest sense. To enhance engagement, a selfie zone featuring a thoughtful message will encourage visitors to participate, reflect, and spread awareness about the gift of vision— inspiring many to pledge eye donation and be part of this one-of-a-kind initiative.
The initiative brought together dignitaries, well-wishers, and community members to usher in the festive season with compassion and solidarity – making Chokkhudaan a memorable celebration of humanity and hope.
