74 Budding Entrepreneurs from across nation join the 2025 Batch of EDII’s Academic Programme

New Delhi, July 28 2025: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, an acknowledged national resource institute for Entrepreneurship Education, Research, Training, Startups, Innovations and Institution Building, inducted the 2025 batch comprising 74 students from across 13 states and 2 Union Territories into its flagship programmes: Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Entrepreneurship (PGDM-E); Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (PGDM-IEV); and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM).

Chief Guest for the induction ceremony was Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary (SME), Ministry of MSME, Government of India & EDII Governing Board Member. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Professor & Director, Department of Entrepreneurship Education, EDII and Dr. Etinder Pal Singh, Professor, EDII

Addressing the new batch of students, Ms. Epao said, “You are entering a phase where innovation, vision, and perseverance will shape your life. At a time when the government is prioritizing entrepreneurship and MSME growth, you are at the right place to build a future that contributes to national development. Make the most of the knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities here at EDII to evolve into change-makers.”

Dr. Sunil Shukla encouraged the students to fully engage with the entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. He said, “I am happy that you chose to pursue entrepreneurship. EDII’s curriculum is market-oriented and contemporary, which is why it is so relevant and impact-making. EDII has witnessed several success stories and I am sure, very soon you all will also join this brigade of achievers.”

Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya and Dr. Etinder Pal Singh briefed the students about the structure of the academic programmes and highlighted how over the past 28 years, the PGDM-E and its allied programmes have grown significantly in terms of increasing enrolments and a high success rate.

Following the induction ceremony, Ms. Epao also interacted with over 200 women artisans and entrepreneurs associated with EDII. She lauded their commitment to reviving traditional crafts and creating sustainable livelihoods through enterprise. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Women entrepreneurs are at the heart of inclusive growth and community development. The Ministry of MSME is supporting and scaling such enterprises through focused schemes and handholding support. I am happy to see the impact that EDII has created by empowering grassroots-level women entrepreneurs.”

She also inaugurated an exhibition where women entrepreneurs trained by EDII showcased their products across diverse crafts and sectors.
